When I struck in home during a rainy day, I try to experiment many things like non stop sleep for 12 hours, 5 course meals, etc.,
Somehow, out of this routine, today I read a nice tamily story in Dinamalar supplement – “Varamalar” which i normally don’t.
Story is really hearteneing and it reflects the reality…I am sure about this by seeing the growing number of old-age homes . What everyone foregets is that they also will become aged one day…..தீதும் நன்றும் பிறர் தர வாரா !!
It is all about an elderly parent living with their son & daughter-in-law. Daughter-in-law is so moeny minderd and hence not allowing her husband to spend any money for his mother’s treatement. Hid dad also financially dependant and is helpless. Without nay treatment, she dies one day and her husband becomes mentally disturbed. So, daughter-in-law convinces her husband to leave his father in Varansi (Kasi) and in this process, they leave him in an unknown railway station & return back.
After few days, his paternal uncle (Chittappa) visits him with surprising message. There is an ancestor property in their village which is nearly 50 lakhs worth now which can be sold by him & his brother jointly and he wnated to take his brother.
Story ends like this….. Now daughter-in-law realises her deed and her mother-in-law smiles in the photo…….
தன் வினை தன்னைச் சுடும்.
I have seen those who treat their parents at par with thier kids and those who illtreat their parents listening to the words of someone. Is it not the duty of everyone to take care of their parents and in-laws ?. … Let it be father or father-in-law or mother or mother in law. When a parent treats their kids equally, why the kids want to share their parents between the brothers in their old age ? When the daughter in law wants the assets of the f-in-law, why can’t she treat him/her at par with her parents ? Why these guys are so submissive to their wifes when their parents at stake ? Won’t his kid learn the same thing from him ? Such stories are to be published in lot and to tbe read by all to make a good society.
